▶ Background of the Agency Agreement
In recent years, the Japanese market has been accelerating its movement toward carbon neutrality, and there is a growing need for efficient control of air conditioning equipment, which accounts for a large proportion of energy consumption. While air conditioning equipment accounts for approximately 50% of energy consumption in office buildings and factories, the proprietary specifications of individual manufacturers are an issue, making integrated management and optimal control of the entire facility difficult.
CoolAutomation is a global provider of air conditioning controllers that can be connected to any manufacturer.
The company's products have been adopted by more than 10,000 companies worldwide and installed in more than 50,000 locations, including office buildings and factories. Through this agreement, The Company will solve issues in the areas of EMS*1 and BMS*2 by combining its strengths in customer base, engineering capabilities, and data utilization with those of CoolAutomation. Our integrated monitoring and control system, Remces, has a proven track record of utilizing CoolAutomation products.
*1 Energy Management System: A system that manages and controls air conditioning, lighting, and manufacturing equipment to optimize energy use.
*2 Building Management System: A system that manages and controls building equipment to efficiently manage the entire building.

Daiki Yokoyama, President & CEO, CoolAutomation Japan LLC
Japan’s building automation landscape remains dominated by closed proprietary protocols, particularly within HVAC systems. This lack of adherence to global open standards has become a structural bottleneck, preventing integration and data interoperability across systems. Consequently, Japan continues to lag behind in the global shift toward smart buildings. By partnering with RYODEN, we aim to accelerate the adoption of open protocols in HVAC infrastructure, enabling cross-system connectivity and laying the technical foundation for truly smart buildings—where HVAC is not an isolated component, but a central, intelligent hub.
Naoki Kasano, General Manager, Facility Systems Division, FA & Facility Systems Business Headquarters, RYODEN Corporation
The implementation of EMS and BMS is expected to accelerate in the future due to the need to achieve corporate CO2 reduction targets and reduce energy costs. Since air conditioning accounts for about 50% of energy consumption, it is necessary to freely integrate individual air conditioners and manage energy consumption. The Company will continue to enhance the value of our customers' air conditioning equipment with CoolAutomation Japan.
